Years ago, we had a Tron-inspired music competition on Tron-Sector.com. I even wrote to Wendy Carlos and asked if she would be one of the judges (her "people" said she was far too busy). We had a few submissions in the contest, and it was fun writing something as if we were scoring a scene from the Tron universe. The point of this is to see if anyone here dabbles in music and would like to have something similar on this site. It's all in good fun, unless someone wants to pony up a prize for the winner (which I may do myself if enough people are interested).
My submission was used in a Tron-like browser game called Jangaron after its programmer stumbled upon our contest and was looking for unlicensed tracks to use. You can hear the track "Recognizer" within the game itself.
Thanks, Seth. I have been lurking Tron forums for a long time...probably close to 15 years or so. I actively played Tron 2.0 between 2005 and 2008, and we were pretty recycle serious about our light cycle races! I'm always glad to see people supporting the Tron name to this day. You're definitely fighting the good fight in my book.
Welcome to Gridlines, Avi! I'm definitely going to be working on updating this place, and pushing it actively again. The TRON community is strong, and though we've been let down quite often for long periods of time, we still make the best of it and keep supporting our franchise.
As for the music competition, that sounds AMAZING! I would absolutely be interested in supporting something like that on Gridlines.

Hey guys! Totally interested in this, if only I owned some music-creating software :/ Any tips? I do play the piano and guitar, but I wouldn't say I'm good enough at either to create something all on my own. DEFINITELY would though if I had some electronic-music gear. I am constantly composing techno music in my dreams, it's kinda weird haha XD Anyway, excited to see if anything pops up here! Cheers!
